В субботу, 17 октября состоялась очередная Литургия в Квебеке для прихожан Свято-Троицкой общины Квебека. Эта служба, в отличие от предыдущих, была особенной: его преосвященство, Преосвященнейший Ириней (Рошон), новый епископ Квебека, впервые как архиерей возглавил Божественную Литургию для его паствы в городе Квебек. Сослужили владыке Иринею местный священник отец Нектарий Феменииас и диакон Алексей Васюшкин из Торонто. Напомним, что хиротония владыки Иринея состоялась лишь две недели тому назад в городе Оттаве в присутствии десяти архиереев во главе с Блаженнейшым Митрополитом Ионой.
Литургия, возглавляемая епископом, несомненно, впечатлила общину. Впервые за многие десятки лет прозвучали архиерейские песнопения. Более сорока богомольцев присутствовало на этом торжестве. Местный хор, под управлением Михаила Войновского-Кригера, стройно, умело и молитвенно пропел службу. Царила теплая и торжественная атмосфера. Поистине, Царь Небесный был среди нас: Иже везде сый и вся исполняяй…
После окончания Божественной Литургии, Михаил Кригер от имени всей общины поздравил владыку Иринея, пожелав ему здоровья, терпения и крепких духовных сил в выполнении нового для него послушания. Диакон возгласил и хор спел многолетие. Отец Нектарий, который со своей матушкой присутствовал на хиротонии, поделился с богомольцами впечатлениями о недавно состоявшемся торжестве. Затем все спустились вниз в трапезную для традиционной совместной трапезы, где надолго задержались в приятной атмосфере.
His Grace Irénée celebrates his inaugural service in his diocese

Holy Trinity mission in Quebec city held its regular service on Saturday October 17th . This service, however, contrary to previous ones, turned out to be quite a special one.
His Grace, The Right Reverend Irénée (Rochon), the new bishop of Quebec, whose consecration took place only two weeks ago in Ottawa in the presence of ten hierarchs headed by His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah, celebrated, for the first time as bishop, the Divine Liturgy for the flock placed under his care. Concelebrating with his Grace were the local priest in charge Fr Nectaire Femenias, and deacon Alexis Vassioushkin, visiting from Toronto.
This event clearly impressed the community. For the first time in decades music from a hierarchical service was chanted at a service in Quebec. Over forty faithful were present for this celebration. The community choir, under the direction of Michael WoinowskyKrieger, very ably sang in a prayerful manner. There was present both a festive and warm atmosphere throughout the service. No doubt, the Heavenly King was there — Who art everywhere present and fillest all things…
Following Liturgy, Mr. Krieger, on behalf of the community, extended congratulations to Vladyka on the occasion of his consecration, wishing him much health, patience, and spiritual strength in the fulfillment of his new obedience. The deacon and choir chanted Many Years. Fr Nectaire, who with his wife was present at the consecration, shared with the faithful his impressions of that day which he qualified as extraordinary. Thereafter, all gathered downstairs in the reception hall for the traditional luncheon.
